Essay Library Topics

Stuck for a topic to write your essay on? Here are a few ideas.

This list is not exhaustive - you may write on any topic that is related in some way to Taekwon-Do. Do you have some ideas you would like to have added to this list, so other people can write about them? Send them to the webmaster

  • A database or categorised list of creative training ideas

  • Procedures for opening a club (including detailed advice for what to seek in a venue, how to advertise, etc)

  • Emergency procedures for a club

  • New Instructor's Pack: what should an instructor receive when they first open a new club? What advice? What documents? Put together a suggestion for a full New Instructor's Pack.

  • Bookkeeping for clubs

  • Legal options for setting up a club: unincorporated club, incorporated society, company, etc; advantages and disadvantages of each; how to do it.

  • Gaining new members - how to do it

  • Retaining members - how to do it

  • Students with disabilities - how to teach them (maybe for a specific disability)

  • Club advertising pack - advertisement templates for clubs, using the ITFNZ Taekwon-Do brand (under supervision of Marketing Committee)

Hints

For many essays, a good starting point is the Encyclopaedia of Taekwon-Do. There may be earlier essays on similar topics in the black belt essays section.. Search the internet. Visit your local library. Make sure you list all of the sources you use at the bottom of your essay, including title, author, year, and publisher or website URL.

Some of the items in this list have been used before. You may write about a topic that has been covered before as long as you add something original - don't just rewrite someone else's work. Make sure you reference the earlier work. This is exactly how research progresses - people learn from earlier work and add their own ideas.
